Happy New Year! 

Hello all!

I hope that the new year is bringing with it a renewed joy and optimism for you!

We have been hard at work getting our lineup of Traveller products revised for the 1105 era, and the Mongoose Traveller rules and sent to Mongoose for publishing thru them.

In talking to gamers, one thing we have learned is that most people have their own preferences of game systems.  They do not need us, or anyone else, telling them which system best portrays science fiction, modern adventure, fantasy, superheroes, etc.  We have listened, and plan in the new year to focus on bringing a variety of games to you using a few different (and diverse) game systems.  This is one of the bases of the Universe Project, and will also be utilized as time goes on.

We are also planning a new line of products to be published right here at ComStar:

• A series of small game books:  Based upon the good response we have gotten for our Detectives game, we are planning on additional small game guide books.  In addition to releasing these for 3.5, we will look to release them for a variety of other game systems.
• Our first 4e Compatible product will be released in early 2009.  Markets and Merchants will provide 4e players with a good sourcebook at a very good price as an introduction of ComStar to 4e.
• The Universe Project:  It was my hope to make a big announcement of a setting acquisition that will form an important part of the UP tonight… but, unfortunately the announcement will need to be delayed until the final contracts can be signed.  The setting that we will be bringing to the UP has been around for a number of years, and has gotten VERY good response.  We will be looking to update it a bit and make it available for a variety of game systems (to include Hero, d6, and hopefully a couple of others that we will wait to announce).

I usually do not like to make hiring announcements here, but we are looking for freelancers that can do conversion work for us.  We can’t afford to pay a lot, but this is a paying gig.  If you are interested, please contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We outgrew our old website, so some changes were needed.  This new website is bigger and better than before…

With the new website, we have plans for more frequent updates on a variety of projects, promotions and expanding our free web content beyond what we were able to do with the old site.

Some more news:

• We have sent in a couple of new Traveller products to Mongoose’s Flaming Cobra division for publication.  As was reported to you before, some of our Traveller products (some will remain here until November, including ALL Traveller Hero products) will be published thru Mongoose.  Project Steel and Type S are the first two of what will be many to come.
• Tome Wyrm’s best selling pdfs are off to the printer as print collections.  These collections will be available at our online store shortly, as well as at other fine retailers.
• Now that Jack has finished with the website, we can put him to work on some laying out of various projects we have had in the pipeline (he was taken off of his layout duties to complete the website).  So, much more gaming stuff on the way!
• The Universe Project is coming! J

Hi all!

I just wanted to post a quick update to let you all know that we are still here, working, and putting out material.

• The third sourcebook for Traveller 1248 is now available in our store, and other sites (e23, RPGNow, DriveThruRPG, etc). 
• Several new Traveller Hero products have now been released, with work now turning to a special print edition of Grand Fleet Hero
• Work continues on the Universe Project (a new science fiction setting)
• Several other products (both Traveller and non-Traveller) are working their way thru the pipeline.  
• Jack has been hard at work preparing a new (and improved) website.  We hope to have that roll out very soon!
